Author of the first novel we published, the blues, mary, Sarah Kay splits her time as a human rights attorney between Europe and the United States. She is a member of the Association of Mixed Race Irish who loves strawberries, her tattoo artists, and the hot streets of Alphabet City in June. Susannah R. Drissi
An award-winning multigenre writer, translator, and scholar, Susannah's first novel, Until We're Fish, blew us away with its stunning realism and poetic prose. Her poetry, prose, and academic papers have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. Her plays have been performed in Los Angeles and Miami, and this multi-talented writer is currently at work on Nocturno, a musical. Rodríguez Drissi is also the author of The Latin Poet’s Guide to the Cosmos (Floricanto Press, 2019). She is on the faculty of the Writing Programs at the University of California, Los Angeles, and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two young daughters.
Jewel Hopson
Jewel says, "Growing up among cousins who had skin color from the very lightest to the very darkest, I could see nothing but love and acceptance....
Throughout my life I couldn't understand people who resented my light skin and reserved behavior. Reading Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, suddenly I could see what others possibly felt and why. There are stories about either side of color and cultural discrimination within the Black community. I knew it was time for both sides to be told in one story. That is why I wrote Parade of Shades."

Rebecca Potter
A career in teaching, and her love and empathy for her students, were the inspiration and motivation behind Rebecca's first book, Both Sides: The Classroom From Where I Stand. With a voice as authentic and observant as hers, we hope she will continue sharing her ideals and views!
Mara Eve Robbins
Activist, poet, inspirational life force. Mara knows no limits to fighting for the planet and the people she loves. Her first published book, Seeing Red, chronicled the fight to save her beloved Appalachia from a 42-inch fracked gas pipeline.
Poets and Writers of Verse
Howard Winn
Howard Winn’s fiction and poetry has been included in myriad literary journals and anthologies. He has been recommended for the Pushcart Poetry Award three times. He was a member of the Armed Forces during WWII, received his B.A. from Vassar College, his M.A. in Creative Writing from Stanford University, and completed his doctoral work at New York University. He has been a social worker in California and is currently a faculty member of SUNY-Dutchess as Professor of English. Acropolis is his first novel, and When Marilyn Monroe Met Edith Sitwell is his latest collection of poetry.
Stephen Bucher
Dr. Bucher lives and writes poetry in the Virginia Piedmont. He is an active member of the Poetry Society of Virginia. Steve's musically vibrant poetry appears in many collections, anthologies, and journals, and often has a theme that highlights his love of the natural world. He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, and presently teaches 8th grade English Language Arts at WC Taylor Middle School in Warrenton, VA. We Stay a Brief Telling was illustrated with photographs, taken by his daughter, of the beautiful countryside that inspires him.
Richard Krause
The art of the Epigram fascinates Krause, who has crafted several collections of these quirky yet engaging verse-like idioms. In Eye Exams, he explores the depths of human nature and the interactions of the mind and a sometimes disturbing reality. Richard says that he "imagines he has the freedom to explore any subject, hoping for those instances when the words fall right to produce something lasting." Nothing, he imagines, is off limits, and least of all his own vulnerabilities.
